Monthly training on a technical or creative skill designed to advance your photography skills one step at a time. Lesson topics include composition, lighting, and posing.
Picking up your camera with purpose is the single most important thing you can do to advance your photography skills. Each month's themed training will contain easy to do challenges to help you practice the skills.
Each month will also include a live meeting with photography mentor Valerie Schoenfeld to answer any questions, provide feedback, and an editing demonstration of members' photos.
What kind of camera do I need?
A DSLR or mirrorless camera is recommended.
What if I don't know how to use my camera?
You will need to have a basic understanding of your camera and manual mode to benefit from Beyond the Snapshot. I suggest taking my Conquer Your Camera course first. This membership is to enhance your technical and creative skills AFTER learning how to shoot in manual mode.
How long will you offer a founding member discount?
The current rate of $15/month is only available until September 15, 2021. After that, the founding member rate will increase.
Will the price increase at a future date if I join?
No. As a thank you for being one of my founding members, I want to offer the $15/month price for the lifetime of your membership!
What if I can't make the live lessons?
No worries! The lessons are all recorded and will be available in the membership site for as long as you are a member.
How long will I have access to the material?
You will have access to all past and current content for as long as you maintain your membership.
I'm not new to photography. Will this help me still?
Most likely, yes! We will deep dive into topics such as composition, lighting, and posing. Some information may not be new but what will be new is how you apply it. Often times, we hear about something but fail to actually try it out or explore it further. This is designed to take a skill and creatively explore it through challenges.. Will I need to purchase Lightroom?
No. I do include information on how to use Lightroom Classic which is a subscription based product, but most of the editing information can be applied to the free Lightroom app or any other software you might use to edit photos.
When you join Beyond the Snapshot, you will also be granted immediate access to Lightroom 101, an introductory course to Lightroom Classic.
